Timo Weiland + Tess Giberson + Yigal Azrouël w/ Saint Rita Parlor

On the second runway night of STLFW, Saint Louis welcomed some pretty big names to Union Station. Both Timo Weiland and Tess Giberson had just sent their looks down the runways at NYFW in September. Yigal Azrouël has become a powerhouse in womenswear after appearing on the NYFW scene in 2000. Before the runway presentation, attendees were treated to the debut of Saint Louis-native Neil Bardon's menswear collection.

It's not an evening presented by ALIVE without free-flowing drinks and snacks. As attendees nibbled, sipped, and chatted, Neil Bardon's still model presentation in support of his new Saint Rita Parlor menswear line drew attention. You might remember mention of Saint Rita Parlor from my post back in the spring. Bardon held a trunk show for his eyewear at one of my favorite spots in Saint Louis, Planter's House. After launching his eyewear collection and finding success with that endeavor, he moved onto focusing on creating his menswear line. It's very loose and laid-back, maybe even too much so for most Saint Louis fellahs, but I am a big fan of the collection nonetheless.

Let's take a look at my favorite pieces from the evening's runway show! All runway photos are included courtesy of Mark Schwigen for ALIVE. Final walk videos were filmed by me.

Yigal Azrouël's works spoke to the whole gamut of women's interest. From "stolen from the boys" chic to classic skirt and dress cuts, Azrouël played with patterns, textures, and asymmetry. The tree-printed fabric fit the spring/summer flair, while the heavier jackets and furry vest called for current temperatures.

Can we say pleats, pleats, pleats?! I LOVE it. I'm all about pleats as they elevate a simple shape in dress or skirt form from boring to just the right amount of interest. Tess Giberson brought out all of the pleat action, from maxi-length sack-style dresses to drop-waist dresses to skirts. I love me a good metallic statement piece as well, so I was happy to see that chrome and iridescent silver strut down the runway. With a variety of textures, shapes, and prints, Tess Giberson kept my attention through the length of the presentation.

Timo Weiland's collection really beckoned to the cool kid in all of us, no matter what our style tendencies are. With prints and physical textures galore, but with clearly coordinated color palettes, the pieces definitely called for spring. That two piece set in the bottom image looks so classy with the black stripes down the outsides of the legs, and the eyelet lace all over the dresses really caught my eye.

For the night's events I wore a ridiculous amount of hand-me-downs from none other than the fabulous Sarah Stallman of The Wicked Wallflower. Sarah let me come raid her closet when she was getting ready to donate a bunch of things, and I hit the jackpot in her stash! I was decked out in a matching two-piece outfit that's very Cher from Clueless over a crop top I think I stole from my sister, my thrifted leather jacket, belt from Sarah, clutch from Sarah, tights from Nordstrom, and BCBG Generation booties. My necklace was also from Sarah, and my earrings were purchased at Leopard Boutique in Webster Groves.

Angie Lewis of Honey & Denim and I accidentally coordinated with plaid! On the right you'll spy Megan Zietz of The Frugalista Diaries. I had the pleasure of hanging out with these two ladies all day Friday!

I hung around a bit upstairs in the Grand Hall for the afterparty (a London Calling event with Timo Weiland even joining the DJs onstage), but I really needed actual food after an eventful evening. I scooted on over to Pinup Bowl in the Loop to visit with the boyfriend, have a much belated dinner, and catch up with some friends. I made sure to head home around midnight because I was turning into a pumpkin spice latte (as the new joke goes with some of my friends). Plus, the next day was the blogger tour of Saint Louis and I wanted to be rested up for that! That will be such a fun post to write and I have so many things to share from that day. I'm wrapping this post up so that I can hop in bed because I am super tired from this weekend!

Thanks for reading! <3
