Ms. Fancy Pants

The joy of thrifting is discovering things you would not expect to find in a regular retail shop. It's such a rush to flip through racks of item after item, and then stumble upon something absolutely spectacular.

"Let me tell you about these pants..."

That is exactly how I felt when I found these silk pants in the women's pajama section of Value Village. They're soft and slippery to the touch, and the pattern... oh my. I feel rich and opulent wearing them!

So this necklace jumped out at me from the display case at the Fenton Value Village. It was found on a different trip than the pants, so you know I'm there sorta maybe kinda often. I thought it was an unusual find, and I'm loving the world/ethnic chic trend right now. When the employee handed it to me, I flipped it over to realize that someone had just hot glued the elephant pendant to a simple rope choker. Score! A DIY and one-of-a-kind item.

I don't even remember where this hair stick is from. I think someone may have given it to me years ago. Anyone want to take credit? I love the little glass-blown bauble at the end. It spices up your hair just enough, and is a good departure from the typical ponytail.

Did you see my quickie post introducing my photographer Miles and his assistant, Lucas? They brought out the big guns for this photoshoot as we were losing sunlight quickly. I'm so lucky to have made friends like Miles. I felt like a professional model running around with the lights setup in the alleyway. We even had to jump out of the way for cars to pass.

It's not a shoot in Saint Louis city unless you get cozy with the local alleyway discards.

The booties I'm wearing are from maurices. I knew I had to have them as soon as they came in. They're such a gorgeous gray color. The heel is a perfectly walk-able height, and I love the zipper detail down the front. Also, let's be real, no crop top is this fabulous at pushing up the ladies. I have to wear a bra underneath it because it's a little sheer for my taste, and I don't mind the, er, lifted, effect that double coverage provides.
